How To Measure Website Goals Using Google Analytics?
In order to understand how well your search engine optimizations (SEO) and social media marketing strategies are working, it’s important to measure the results. One of the key metrics to track are website conversions, which include any activity that a visitor completes when they come to your site. Examples of conversion goals could include: product sales, contact form submissions, newsletter sign-ups, lead generation, software downloads, and visits to any other page you want a visitor to view.
One of the best ways to measure conversions is through website analytics using Google Analytics. The neat thing about Google Analytics is that it provides detailed insights into your site’s traffic and marketing effectiveness. The bonus is that Google Analytics is free!
To track the success of a target goal, the first thing you need to do is set up the goal in the “Goal Settings” section within Google Analytics. In the example below, you can see that one goal I set up is to track how many people visit my automated “Thank You” page. This is the page that visitors see after they have signed up via my contact form for the newsletter of one of my sites called envisionGood.com.
