How Can Web Video Promote A Brand? National Geographic’s “Live Curious” Campaign
I’m always on the look-out for examples of good marketing using video to give me ideas and insights on how I can make my own videos better.
The advertisements I like the most are the ones that make me think, have a positive message, and are entertaining while at the same time promoting a brand. This video above is fantastic - it’s an advertisement for National Geographic, one of my favorite online magazines.
Airing in 166 countries, the “Live Curious” campaign is about exploration, pioneering, and questioning, says Rafael Sandor, Executive Vice President of Creative & Marketing for National Geographic. The campaign aims to capture the National Geographic spirit, suggesting that no matter what country you live in or language you speak, this message to “Live Curious” hits close to home.
I love how this ad features 25 different voice overs from around the world and footage from over 40 locations around Cape Town (South Africa) and Inhambane (Mozambique). Its message, “live curious” is memorable and inspiring.
